Clothing

It is unnecessary to pack excessive clothing because laundry services are provided daily. Three changes of clothes are perfectly adequate for any length of stay.
Our suggested list of clothing:

NOTE:

If you are prone to sore feet, heavier socks and a pair of sturdier hunting boots are advisable. Whatever your choice, shoe or boot, the soles should be made of rubber without lugs or cleats so that you can move quietly while stalking and tracking game. Dark-colored boots/shoes are recommended, NOT WHITE!

Equipment

Miscellaneous – personal toiletries, extra eyeglasses, insect repellent, good quality sunscreen (at least SPF 30), lip balm, reading material, personal tobacco products, and any personal medication.

Precautions

For your peace of mind, we recommend that you take out travel and medical insurance prior to your departure. If you are using medication, you must remember to bring enough for your entire stay, and that all medications are contained in the prescribed packaging. Please inform the Hercules Safaris office of any medical conditions, such as allergies, disabilities, and/or physical limitations. South Africa is mostly malaria-free with the only reported cases being in certain isolated areas in the northernmost reaches of the country.Malaria occurs mostly in Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Botswana, and Mozambique. Malarial prophylactic is recommended if you are traveling to these areas. For more information regarding malaria, visit the CDC’s malaria page. We recommend that you get vaccinated for Hepatitis A & B, as well as Tetanus, before departing for your safari. Visit the CDC’s travel page for more health-related travel information.

Trophy Handling

All Field preparations are handled by our experienced and well-trained staff. Hides are meticulously skinned, tagged, and chemically preserved before they are transported to our Local Taxidermy or Dip & Pack agent. Hercules Safaris will do all necessary documentation and arrangements to have your trophies safely and legally exported.

NOTE:

Payments on taxidermy work can be arranged after your hunting safari within 12 months after completing your hunt.

Important notice regarding importing trophies to the USA:

“Clients often request their Hunting Outfitters to combine two, or more, clients’ trophies onto one PH Register. Not only is this illegal to do, but it can land you in serious trouble. Should you as PH/Outfitter allow such practice, you can be held responsible for submitting false/fraudulent information, as you have signed the PH Register. According to the Lacey Act in America, it is violation of law to complete/submit such false documentation.”
